How often should I wash my car?

Some people like to wash their cars once per week, every other week, others prefer once a month or longer, but as a professional its ideal to wash once a week but no longer than two weeks! In fact, our vehicles are under constant attack from everything from airborne pollution to damaging natural and chemical contaminants. Left on the surface these finish killers can embed themselves into the paint some very quickly. Salt can start corrosion, bird droppings can eat through to your paint in as little as one hour during the heat of the summer. Tree sap can be almost impossible to remove if left on the clear coat for an extended period of time, bugs can damage your paint, hot UV rays can be harmful, and dirt can really scratch up the clear and the paint. The key is getting into a habit of regular car care maintenance. Of all the things you can do for your car, regular washing is the most visual, the most fun and the easiest! Remember to wash with a wash & wax auto soap, clean wash mitt, shady spot, and wash away and have fun!

In nice weather I shoot for once a week. In bad weather/winter I try at least every two weeks. In between washes I use a quick detail and a good wax.
